Do you know about Dwight D. Eisenhower? Well, he was born in Texas in 1890, although he was raised in Abilene, Kansas. He had four older brothers and two younger brothers. In high school he excelled at fitness and sports.
After he graduated he received an invitation to West Point Military Academy. When he finished at West Point he was stationed in Texas as an second lieutenant. That’s where he met the love of his life, Mamie. Then Eisenhower went to DC early in his Army career. He excelled in staff assignments while serving under Generals John J. Pershing. When Pershing passed away Eisenhower took over. Eisenhower then was the supreme allied commander and oversaw all of our allies in WW2, even the French.
He became president in 1952. Now, some might ask what were some things he did as a president. Well, he made the Federal Highway Act, and signed the Civil Rights Bill. Dwight D. Eisenhower negotiated several terms with North Korea during the Cold War in 1953.
He died after a long illness, on March 28, 1969. Some people liked him, some people did not, but, that's politics. From my view I think America needs someone like him today. That's why I did this and to inform you what our beloved country needs right now.
