Why shouldn’t there be a Coronado day? According to (History.com) He forced black slave rebellions to stop. When the people of Zuni resisted Coronado’s efforts to convert and control them he attacked the people forcing them to flee. According to (history.com) He failed his expedition by getting hit by a rock that is nothing worthy of being honored for.
Why should there be a Coronado day? He was the one who found Kansas. Coronado never gave up when he failed his expedition for the seven cities of gold. Instead of inheriting his family's fortune he decided that he worked his way up on his own. We celebrate Columbus so why not celebrate Coronado.
