There is more to Emporia history than just a museum, you can come and visit the Howe House where you can look back at how people lived in the 18-1900’s. The Howe House is a historical site located in Emporia KS.

According to different historical sites such as Lyon County Historical Center and the Travel KS, the Howes were leaders in the welsh community. The Howes lived there for 3 generations, before it was finally willed by Sarah Howe to the Lyon County Historical Society. It was also typically used for a meeting place that the Howe’s would use to talk to their entire community.

The Howe House has a huge field behind it and a shed right next to it. The shed has a bunch of tools in it which allows for you to get the general understanding how they lived during the time. The field can allow you to see how and where they used to plant their crops.

If you want to find out more about the Howe House, then you can visit it at 118 E 6th Ave, Emporia, KS, the Howe House is available at all times except night or on holidays.
